The Director of Accounting & Finance is responsible for developing and managing the Company’s general accounting and financial reporting systems to provide timely, accurate and complete financial information to senior management, the Board of Directors, and investors. The Director of Accounting & Finance oversees the accurate preparation of the corporate tax return, conducts cash management activities, budget preparation and ad hoc analysis including variance to budget. Additionally, the Director of Accounting & Finance will manage compliance with financing agreements and oversee financial analysis in support of capital raising activities. Other duties include the proper maintenance of all accounting and reporting in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley, GAAP and tax requirements as well as oversight of internal and external audit process, and financial planning and reporting for the business. This position supervises the Accounting Manager, the Financial Reporting Manager and the Purchasing, Inventory and Project Administrator.
Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) or higher degree from a four-year college or technical school; plus a minimum of 7 years in accounting related function, and must be a C.P. A. with at least 2 years of public accounting experience. Some experience with debt and/or equity financing preferred. Must have experience that provides evidence that the candidate has (1) the ability and flexibility to work hands on with spreadsheets and other accounting tasks as well as the ability to develop systems; (2) the potential to grow and take on more managerial responsibilities as the business grows; (3) the ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing; (4) the ability to manage and develop direct reports; (5) the ability to exercise mature judgment; and (6) the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
